Knowledge Testing:

Testing is by appointment. Please call the office at (509) 326-6181 to make your appointment.
You must present photo ID and pay the fee prior to test.
Arrive 5 minutes prior to your scheduled test time.

Test is 40 questions and is multiple choice.
You have 45 minutes to complete the test.
Please let us know when you make your appointment if you need the test in a language other than English.
Passing score is 80% or higher (Minimum 32 out of 40 correct)
Results are reported to the WA DOL electronically within 24 hours

Knowledge Testing Fee: $45 per exam. Must be paid in full when your make your appointment. Testing fees are non-refundable. We accept credit/debit cards or cash. No refunds for late or missed appointments or failed tests.

Skills Testing:

You must present photo ID, WA (WDL) number and pay the fee prior to test.
Arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled test time.

Testing in your vehicle:
It must be legally licensed and registered. Current registration is required.
No defective parts.
Brakes, brake lights, turn signals, tires, seat belts and windshield wipers, mirrors and reverse
lights will be checked prior to test.
Current proof of liability insurance showing policy holder’s name and vehicle description.

The drive test will test the applicant’s ability to drive legally and safely.
Passing score is 80% or higher out of a possible 100 points
Results are reported to the WA DOL electronically within 24 hours

Skills Testing Fee: $60 per exam in your vehicle.  Must be paid in full when you make your appointment. Testing fees are non-refundable. We accept credit/debit cards or cash. No refunds once vehicle inspection and test has begun. No refunds for late or missed appointments or failed tests.

If you are under the age of 18 you must be at least 16 years old, successfully completed a traffic safety education course, have had your permit for at least 6 months and have had 50 hours driving experience with at least 10 night driving hours to apply for your driver’s license.

The Department of Licensing reserves the right to conduct random re-examinations; applicants refusing to take a reexamination may have their license revoked. Passing the Knowledge and Skills test does not guarantee you will get a license. You must also meet the DOL requirements and pay their fees.

If you have a physical or mental disability/issue you are required to test directly with the DOL office. Failure to disclose an issue will result in your test not being honored at the DOL and there will be no refund of the testing fee(s).

If you have been convicted of an alcohol offense and have an Ignition Interlock Device (IID) you must test in your vehicle, using the IID.
